Based on the stories I’ve heard and the experience I’ve seen on the show Ghost Hunters, I don’t think it’s the ghosts that make it so haunted. One thing in there gives everyone the chills and is dangerous, one thing attacked one of the ghost hunter members, and it wasn’t a ghost. It was a demon. Ghosts are usually souls that no longer have their physical bodies to approach people. They are not ready to move on to the other side. But demons are souless creatures, fallen angels, workers of the devil. They can do serious harm and that should not be joked around with. Demons are a very serious case because they can physcially and emotionally harm you in any way they want, that is of course if you don’t have Jesus is your life. Then Jesus’s angels will protect you from those harmful creatures.

My brother-in-law knew I was coming to Ireland March 14th, 2011 and asked me to view this Castle as I have a VERY in tune Sixth Sense! I’ll keep you posted Kuya as I make this journey to Birr from Dublin, but I truly think I am more intrigued by the Owner…I’ll feel them before they know I will… Looking forward to this!

I DID see this in real life, when owner Sean Ryan invited 5 of us to tour in April 2009. Sean, an Irish tin whistle musician, passed through our area (Saratoga), so we had a connection aforehand.
Great castle and quite livable due to Sean’s handiwork. Didn’t see any ghosts, goblins, or ghouls, but did see (and hear from Sean) how the castle and it’s history intertwined to have great lore and storytelling.
If you visit, be sure to ask Sean to play, and be VERY sure to buy one or two of his CD’s. He’s truly a gifted musician, playing everything from reels to caeli to rebel songs.
